Today

Today=Really tired-I am ready for the weekend.

I have been looking for different ways to add more to the online course site via Youtube/Current events. I have a few movies to show that relate but I was wondering if you guys had some suggestions?...

This week I finished my project, I just need to edit the titles and confirm it with my supervisor. That makes me feel less stressed and now I can focus on other things. I have been looking forward to Battle of the Sexperts and the event "Can I kiss you?" just because that will give me more insight on the community.

I will be looking at some of the message boards to see what the students are asking and if I can add some other videos/information to help with their questions.

I am having a great time with my internship because I have been learning quite a bit. Yay
Have a good Thursday-avoid that cold weather...

Week 4ish?PLANNED PARENTHOOD-Prostitution-Human Sex Trafficking... :/

Hello readers.
I have been very excited to let you in on my life and here is one event that I will share, I was invited for an interview to my top graduate school that I applied for and am thrilled to say this has truly made my whole year. I am nervous but at the same time very excited. It consists of a 4 hour interview process that is small group, large group and individual interview. I have to have my A game up just because I want to go to this university. I am ready to leave my hometown and meet some new people.

There are some issues that I have been looking into lately and some of them consist of Planned Parenthood, Human Sex Trafficking and Prostitution. I have been looking at these issues because they all have something in common. The obvious issue is sex, but they also are illegal acts of sex along with many forced acts of sexual activity.

Planned Parenthood could be losing funds due to treating prostitutes-prostitution is usually forced on these women and this can lead to human sex trafficking/is human sex trafficking. It is a revolving door so who do we blame or where does this problem root from?

We can't put full blame on Planned Parenthood. How about the deviant acts that are being presented from the outsiders? What about the pimps? They are laying low and forcing these young girls to do this-In my last post you saw the video-some of the girls couldn't even speak English (they were brought in from another country) so WHY WHY WHY aren't the sellers/buyers getting in trouble?

I am frustrated because I feel like an important organization could potentially get shut down. Yes, Planned Parenthood should have acted on the situation but where do you draw the line? Are they merely there to help these girls with STD checks or should they enforce the law and act on such areas.

I feel that the "prostitutes" always get the blame but if you further investigate the issue they are usually forced into the business.

I AM JUST UPSET. PLEASE SIGN THE LETTER TO WASHINGTON. LETS KEEP HAVING SAFER SEX AND LEAVE THIS ORGANIZATION OPEN~!

TGIF!

Hello readers!
I can't believe that Feb is almost over! WOWZA! I have been trying to accomplish the uploading of the videos online and it is getting there! I am happy to see that it is finally coming together. This upcoming week I will be adding some interesting articles/videos to some of the course material and hopefully getting to talk to the school counselors...(I've been putting it off) just so I can get this other task completed first!

I am loving life and this truly has been one of the best experiences in my college career. Just wanted to give a shout-out to my supervisor! Thanks for all that you do!

Tuesday

Very Random Post

Wow this past weekend was very eventful and I felt a bit overwhelmed. Just a bit. Although it was busy I learned so much. I feel like I have become more grounded with my social life and honestly I think it is a process that everyone goes through when they are growing up. It scares me..(seriously).

I went to the LGBT leadership conference and that was very eye opening and it helped me understand a lot of different areas that dealt with human sexuality. I met a few people and it was nice to see my college community come together to talk about the issues that people face everyday.

Who watched the Grammys? Eminem/Rihanna/Dre/Skylar Grey performance? AWWmazing : ).

Sign up for Battle of the Sexperts by FEB 18. The competition is March 1. It i a competition for sexual awareness and you win some pretty sweet prizes. Get a team together and you will be able to get a t-shirt when you sign up! 10 dollars/person!

Uhm what else? Any new songs/ideas out there? I have been brainstorming and will add more later!

Planned Parenthood. Risky behavior leads to questioning of funds and morals.

I was watching Fox news last night and was surprised to see upset individuals on the organization, "Planned Parenthood." It has always been a major debate in our country because they facilitate cheaper health care and are known for performing abortions in their state funded organization.

It took me back because the organization, Live Action has been investigating Planned Parenthood for the past five years and got a negative response out of Planned Parenthood. They had a sex trafficker go into the clinic and ask questions about getting young girls (13) tested and how they could go about getting abortions. The response from Planned Parenthood was that they could get away with it and that it would be their little secret. (Shocking).

The employees have not been fired yet, although they deny that the videos were made up and were not true. Many lawmakers and citizens are up in arms because this is jeopardizing young girls and allowing sex crimes to become even more lucrative.

Some Taxpayers and the government are trying to shut down Planned Parenthood because of these allegations. They believe that it doesn't benefit society and that if illegal acts are being allowed in the clinics then it shouldn't be a benefit.

I am torn. Honestly I am for Planned Parenthood-It is a clinic to help young, underprivileged individuals to get checkups etc. I think that the media is going above and beyond the exploitation.

I DO NOT AGREE with sex trafficking and how Planned Parenthood dealt with that situation. Those individuals are not a good representation of Planned Parenthood and do deserve punishment. I am appalled that they didn't try and tell authorities about a guy who wanted to know that kind of information. It was taken way to lightly.

Now please government- don’t take away the funding-WE NEED EDUCATION/SAFER SEX/BIRTH CONTROL/DOCTORSSSS for people that cannot afford it. OK RANT TIME.

As for sex trafficking that is another subject that would take 5 more posts. I have a lot of information on that lucrative business but for now lets question how this is being dealt with.

Abstinence Only Sex Education-No is where I stand until I have a wedding band..

Ok, so I am a true believer that abstinence only education is not the way to go. Yes, promoting it/encouraging it might be somewhat effective, but it truly does not help with the spread of STI's and Pregnancy.

I was doing some research and came across an article that didn't surprise me. The states are looking to boot abstinence only education and make it more effective.

The problems that the states are facing are the funds of abstinent only education and the mixing of taxes. They are receiving more money from the government to teach abstinent only education which makes for a lot of the debate.

It also has to do with parents, religion and what part of the country that they are in. Parents are still under the impression that their teenage son/daughter are not having sex so why teach them safer sex?...Religion plays a lot into it because most churches do not agree with sex before marriage (which is rare these days) and the areas that don't have the advantage of having a sex education program are at a higher risk.

Scaring teenagers out of sex or even telling them that it is bad will not only make them wonder but they will want to engage in sexual intercourse. They will still go and have sex, even if they are taught that abstinence is better.

So take a preventative approach and show them their options. Comprehensive Education gives the options of where educators stand. They want to teach teenagers that if they are having sex, to use protection, to prevent pregnancy or the spread of STI's.

We have evolved and honestly our society is based on sex. It is everywhere so let’s be safe about it.

Have a great Tuesday!

Organization/LGBT Leadership Conference

That is key when trying to accomplish something. I have been trying to find a way to get everything that I find for this internship in order.

I have gotten a notebook to compile everything that I find for my records. It makes me feel more like a teacher.

I have been searching for different things to attend on campus or around that will give me more knowledge on human sexuality in general.

Which leads me to the next topic- LGBT- Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans-gender group/organization is going to be hosting a leadership conference at my college . I will be attending and look forward to the insights that everyone has to offer. Recently in the media bullying and suicide have become prominent in teenage/college aged homosexuals. I find it to be disturbing and difficult to grasp. I would love to have everyone attend this conference. It will make you more aware of others and bring different individuals together for educational benefits. If you want more information message me and I will give you details.

Snow Day=Cabin Fever

I am soooo soo glad that KSU is finally functioning. I know it is nice to have a snow day here and there but I honestly thought it wasn't necessary on Monday. I have been MIA lately due to my boredom of my place of residence(Not telling where I live).I have been taking mini roadtrips to ease the senioritus.

I have had some negative and mostly positive feedback. First, I want to clarify my blog and why I am here. I am here to keep my thoughts on paper(Internet), Keep record of the research that I do, this is an assignment(that I love) from my supervisor and the most important of all of these, is to improve your education. I am looking for feedback to make the class more effective.

I am not trying to be Dr.Phil or Oprah, trying to get attention or even doing it as a trend. I am here to HELP you guys. I like giving my opinion on occasion but it's a discussion topic that should and needs to be addressed.

Enough of that, I am not mad just wanted to let everyone know that's what the purpose of this is.

Now I am trying to upload classroom videos today and the connection is slow. Who wants to help me fix it? I emailed ITAC today so I hope they get back to me quick!

Look out for the next topic... it's on it's way!
